Bassey is a follower of Jesus Christ, passionate about helping others explore faith, discover biblical truth, and grow in their relationship with God.

My Journey So far

I have come to realise that life is not a sprint, but a marathon – and that understanding was born from learning patience. It is one of the earliest and hardest lessons I have had to learn in my walk with God, and honestly, I am still learning it. I have seen how easy it is to keep chasing the next thing, believing happiness is somewhere ahead, while overlooking the blessings God has already placed in front of me. More and more, I am learning that the answer to fear and anxiety is trust, trusting that God already has everything in His hands, and that my role is to live out each day with gratitude, peace, and thanksgiving.

So for me, life is not a sprint, but a marathon, one thoughtfully designed by God to be deeply meaningful and beautiful when we trust Him and follow His blueprint for us. My journey so far has been a gradual unfolding into His purpose for my life, learning at each stage that I was never meant to live in fear, but in complete trust of Him.

Family Life

Beyond writing, I have been blessed to be a wife, a mother, a sister-in law, a sister and a friend to the amazing people God has placed in my life.

I am happily married to my husband, Utom, who, by God’s grace, has been a constant source of strength and support in my life. Together, we are blessed with two wonderful children, Kufre and Akeabasi, who fill our days with joy, laughter, adventure, and countless precious memories.

When I’m not writing or navigating the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you’ll usually find me investing time in the people I love. Being a wife, a mother, a sister, and a friend brings me some of life’s greatest joys and makes every day meaningful and rewarding.

What I Get Up To

If I’m not writing or spending time with my family, I’m probably somewhere being a civil engineer.

I am a civil engineer by training and practice. One of the things I truly love is a well-built house! I can’t wait to build my dream home someday and fill it with all the things I love most. More importantly, I look forward to filling it with joy, laughter, and beautiful memories, making it a welcoming home for my family and close friends.

One of the things currently stretching me mentally is my doctoral research, which, by the way, is still in civil engineering! I know what you’re probably thinking, but let’s just leave it at that for now.

My doctoral thesis is finally in sight, and by God’s grace, I look forward to completing it very soon!
